Vortec 3.7L I5 engine Another of GM’s inline engine family, the Vortec 3.7L delivers the power of a 6-cylinder with the fuel economy of a 4-cylinder. In fact, it produces more horsepower and torque than any competitor’s standard V6. Standard on all 2LT models and available on 1WT and 1LT models. - 242 hp @ 5600 rpm. - 242 lb.-ft. of torque @ 4600 rpm.

Vortec 5.3L V-8 engine This spirited powerplant marks the introduction of V-8 power and performance to the Colorado lineup. Available on Extended and Crew Cab models and standard on 3LT trim models. - 300 hp @ 5200 rpm. - 320 lb.-ft. of torque @ 4000 rpm.

Manual transmission An economical and fun-to-drive 5-speed manual with overdrive. Standard on 1WT and 1LT Regular and Extended Cabs and on 1VL Extended Cabs.

Automatic transmission A smooth shifting, electronically controlled 4-speed automatic with overdrive. Standard on 2LT and 3LT Regular and Extended Cabs and all Crew Cab models; available on 1WT and 1LT Regular and Extended Cab models.

Towing capacity Colorado can tow up to 6000 lbs. on certain models with the 5.3L V-8, up to 5500 lbs. on certain models equipped with the Vortec 3.7L I5 engine, and up to 3400 lbs. on certain models equipped with the Vortec 2.9L I4.

Versatile and roomy cargo boxes Regular and Extended Cab models feature a 6'1" long cargo box with 44 cu. ft. of cargo capacity. Crew Cabs get a shorter 5'1" box with a 37 cu. ft. capacity. Both boxes include four tie downs, 2-tier loading capability and a standard bedliner. Colorado’s cargo boxes also feature a segment-exclusive 2-position locking tailgate with stops at 55 and 89 degrees for even more cargo hauling versatility.

Interior cargo capacity Colorado Regular Cabs have room for storage behind the seats. And Colorado has the only Extended Cab in the segment with a flat load floor and under-seat storage compartments. Colorado’s Crew Cabs feature a 60/40 split-folding rear seat with underseat storage. The seat can be folded down completely for a wide, flat load floor, or folded in sections to allow a combination of cargo and passengers.

Three suspension systems Are offered on Colorado. Each includes an independent front suspension with stabilizer bar and rear solid live axle with semi-elliptical, 2-stage steel leaf springs and a stabilizer bar. - The rugged Z85 Suspension is standard on most 2WD and 4WD Colorado models. Includes front coil springs on 2WDs and torsion bar on 4WDs. - The Z71 Off-Road Suspension with a front torsion bar is standard on all 2LT Colorados. - The ZQ8 Sport Suspension with the V-8 engine includes specially tuned shocks, a larger rear stabilizer bar and 18" aluminum wheels. Available only on Extended and Crew Cabs.

Three body styles. Regular Cab with two doors and 3-passenger seating with storage room behind the seats. - Extended Cab with two front doors, two rear-opening rear doors and 5-passenger seating. - Crew Cab with four front-hinged, forward-opening doors and 6-passenger seating.

Two trim levels. WT: Primarily intended as a fleet vehicle or work truck. Available in Regular and Extended Cab configurations. - LT: Carpeted with chrome interior trim. Available in Extended and Crew Cab in four versions: 1VL, 1LT, 2LT and 3LT. Regular Cab available in 1LT.

Chassis Cab Designed for commercial applications, the upfit-ready Chassis Cab is available in 2WD or 4WD Regular Cab configuration.

Standard features Every Colorado includes manual air conditioning, cruise control, leather-wrapped steering wheel with tilt steering, a multifunction Driver Information Center, retained accessory power, auto-on headlamps and two auxiliary power outlets.

Exterior appearance upgrades Extended and Crew Cabs now receive chrome door and tailgate handles with bodycolor cups and body-color outside mirrors. Crew Cabs add body-color side molding. Z71 grille surround now bodycolor. Z85 models now standard with a body-color grille surround and bar, body-color front and rear bumpers with a dark gray lower fascia.

Fog lamps Standard on all LT models.

Standard 60/40 split-bench front seats Are clad in Deluxe Cloth and feature integrated head restraints and dual cup holders. LT models add manual recline and armrest storage. Vinyl is an option on WT models.

Bucket seats In Deluxe Cloth are standard on 3LT and available on 1LT and 2LT.

Leather-appointed heated front bucket seats With 8-way power driver seat, 6-way power passenger seat, power lumbar and adjustable head restraints. Available on some LT Extended and Crew Cab models.
