What makes the 2022 Chevy Colorado ZR2 so great for going off-road? It’s built from the ground up to do things no other truck can do. It can rock crawl with the best, creep through tight corners on narrow trails, race through the desert at high speed, and even get you to the office on time afterward. Also, it sits higher and wider than the regular Colorado – 2 inches higher and 3.5 inches wider. Extra clearance means it can handle tougher terrain. The wider track means increased stability in even the most difficult circumstances.  

The ZR2 has two engine options. First, there’s a gasoline-powered 3.6-liter V6 that produces 308 horsepower and 275 foot-pounds of torque. It comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission that has special capabilities for towing and hauling, including grade braking. Next, we have the 2.8-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder. It puts out 181 horsepower and a rock-eating 369 foot-pounds of torque. Correspondingly, it sends power to a 6-speed automatic.  

Available features like performance air intake, cat-back exhaust, off-road lights, skid plates, and others help round out the ZR2’s off-road chops.
