Chevrolet Silverado electric pickup truck production and features
Where will the Chevrolet Silverado EV be built? Chevrolet has recently announced this new vehicle, which will be built in Detroit and Hamtramck, Michigan at the company’s Factory Zero assembly plant. Keep reading below to learn more about the Chevrolet Silverado electric pickup truck production and features. We can’t wait to see this truck here in Nashville when it is ready.
Will the electric Chevrolet Silverado truck be offered in a fleet version?
Yes, the electric Chevrolet Silverado truck will be offered in retail and fleet versions. There will be a variety of options for both versions. Chevrolet expects high demand for these pickup trucks, as electric trucks are still scarce on the market.
How much driving range will the Chevrolet Silverado EV offer?
The Chevrolet Silverado EV should offer a GM-estimated range of more than 400 miles on a full charge. Those numbers aren’t finalized yet, but we can expect a pickup truck with an impressive range. That’ll mean fewer trips to the gas station on your next camping trip.
When will Factory Zero start its production of electric vehicles?
The latest update from GM is that “Factory Zero is undergoing a complete renovation and retooling, the largest ever for a GM manufacturing facility.” This doesn’t give us a clear idea of when the factory will be ready for production, but it does mean that we can expect to wait a few months. We won’t be waiting forever though, as we know GM plans to ramp up their electric vehicle production by 2025, and we expect the assembly plant to be done long before then.

This quick teaser video from Chevrolet doesn’t give us a lot of information. We see the Chevrolet Silverado logo in sharp clarity, but the truck itself is missing from the equation. We can guess that this means that Chevrolet wants to keep it a surprise, or that the company doesn’t have a final design yet. Either way, we bet it will look something like its predecessors.
