What engine options are available for the 2021 Chevrolet Suburban?

The 2021 Chevrolet Suburban has three engine options, all of which offer slightly altered performance specifications. Whether you choose the Ecotec3 or the Duramax engine, you’ll experience a controlled yet thrilling joyride. Keep reading below to learn more about each of the 2021 Chevrolet Suburban engine options.

Three engine options for the 2021 Chevrolet Suburban

2021 Chevrolet Suburban – 5.3 L Ecotec3 V8

This first engine option is the standard choice on the LS, LT, RST, Z71, and Premier trim levels of the 2021 Chevrolet Suburban. With 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, this engine has commendable power without being over-the-top. The EPA estimates that this engine gets 20 mpg on the highway, making it an efficient and preferable choice for many people.

2021 Chevrolet Suburban – 6.2 L Ecotec3 V8

Like the 5.3 L engine, this engine option is an Ecotec3 V8 model with Dynamic Fuel Management. Dynamic Fuel Management helps both of these options to receive their EPA-estimated 20-mpg rating on the highway. Furthermore, the larger size of this engine perhaps helps it to get its higher power ratings of 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Standard on only the High Country trim level, this engine is something to be sought after.

2021 Chevrolet Suburban – Duramax ® 3 L Turbo-Diesel

A smaller, diesel engine can pack just as much punch in the way of torque. The Duramax 3 L engine may be small, but it matches the 6.2 L Ecotec with 460 pound-feet of torque. As for horsepower, it gets a respectable 277 hp rating. Although this engine has a later availability, it may be worth the wait to get this engine on either the LS, LT, RST, Premier, or High Country trim levels.
