Chevrolet driver-assist technology warning lights and audio signals
Driver-assist technology is designed to help prevent vehicle crashes. A huge part of this is sending audio and visual and even possible sensory warnings to the driver to get them to take action. The Chevrolet safety alert seat can send sensory warnings by vibrating the driver’s seat when a crash is possible. You can turn this feature off in vehicle’s equipped with a safety alert seat by going to the vehicles Settings menu, then to “Alert Type,” and selecting auditory alerts (beeps) rather than safety alert seat.
Driver-assist technology that may trigger a warning light or auditory signal include the following:
- Front pedestrian braking
- Automatic emergency braking
- Enhanced automatic emergency braking
- Lane change alert
- Lane change alert with side blind zone alert
- Lane keep assist
- Lane-keeping assist with lane departure warning
- Lane departure warning
- Forward collision alert
- Low speed forward automatic braking
- Front automatic braking
- Side blind zone alert
- Front and rear park assist
- Rear cross-traffic alert

Chevrolet advanced theft deterrent prevention system
Advanced Theft Deterrents helps prevent theft of your vehicle, gas, and wheels. This system can use auditory warnings if theft is occurring. For example, the Shielded, Battery-Backed Alarm Siren will sound if the vehicle’s main battery is disconnected, the siren is disconnected, or another alarm-triggering event occurs. This does not have a dashboard warning light and will only be triggered in rare instances when theft is detected. There is nothing you need to do, except ensure the safety of your vehicle.
Chevrolet tire fill alert
This alert is letting you know that one of your vehicle’s tires has low pressure. To prevent this light, you can check your tire pressure manually at regular intervals. If this light goes on, simply get your vehicle’s tires to the correct psi, which can be found in your owner’s manual or on the inside frame of your driver’s door.
Chevrolet diesel engine and exhaust warning light
If this light goes on, make sure that your diesel engine is filled with the correct type of oil and Diesel Exhaust Fluid. Click on the “Vehicle information” button in your vehicle and select “Exhaust Fluid Level” to check on this. You’ll see an “Exhaust Fluid Range” alert on your dashboard when your Diesel Exhaust Fluid is getting low.

Chevrolet engine air filter monitor warning light
If you see a message on your Driver Information Center that says “Replace Air Filter Now” that means that your vehicle’s air filter has been filled with debris. It is important to get a new air filter, which you can do at our service center. You can dismiss this message to stop seeing it every time you start up your vehicle.
Chevrolet rear-seat reminder
If the rear door has been opened and closed before a trip, the Chevrolet rear seat reminder will remind you to check your backseat when you arrive at your destination. This is to help prevent children or pets from being left in the vehicle. You can toggle this on and off by selecting “Settings” on your Chevrolet Infotainment screen, then choosing “Rear Seat Reminder,” and choosing “Off” or “On.”
